Foundation Period of Library

 District Government Public Library, Jhalokathi; District headquarters Jhalokathi is located on Government New College Road. A one-story building with 33 percent of its own space. District Government Public Library, Jhalkathi 1972 AD: The library started its operations under the former name of Information Centre, and was gradually run under the name of Bangladesh Parishad Mahakuma Centre. Government order says 01/09/1982 AD: District Government Public Library, Jhalkathi is coming to be known as. Own building was inaugurated on 25th August 2000 AD. The department currently has a total of Five employees including Librarian and one outsourcing against a total of Eight posts (With Librarian) under a librarian. This district has many reputations in the field of education, literature and culture. In continuation of this, “District Government Public Library, Jhalokathi” is playing an important role as a center of literary and cultural practice and knowledge development for all the people of this district irrespective of religion-caste-age and class-profession.
