Recent Activities
District Government Public Library, Jhalokathi has made remarkable progress in several respects in recent times. Besides providing regular services, this office is playing an important role in Jhalokathi and the area's education by directly participating in various government works and creating educated and knowledgeable human resources.

1.
 Text Content Enhancement
 District Government Public Library, Jhalokathi's overall resources including textbooks are constantly being added every year. 2022-2023 financial year included 1215 textbooks. A large number of text materials received as courtesy gifts are also open to library patrons.

 Turn on different angles
 For the convenience of different classes of readers, 4 corners are set up in the library on different subjects. "Bangabandhu Corner" contains books written about the Liberation War and Bangabandhu, "Shishu Corner" contains reading materials suitable for children and teenagers. “Jobs Corner” with job and competitive exam help books. There is a “Women's Corner” for women.

    Event Organization
 In addition to organizing day-based events, the district government public library recently organized a book reading competition on the occasion of "National Library" day on February 5. 100 students of Jhalokathi Government College and Jhalkathi Women's College participated in the competition. 3-5 winners from each group stage are awarded. Judges, Sudhis and Gunijans also participated in the discussion on Library Day. In collaboration with Save the Children, 'Parent Awareness' meetings and book reading competitions have been organized in the past.

 ICT & Web Portal
 By using internet, tablet and computer technology readers can avail free services completely free Wi-Fi internet facility and connected in recent times. District Government Public Library, Jhalokathi has recently been added to the national web portal. You can know about the activities, services and overall affairs of the office at www.publiclibrary.jhalakathi.gov.bd. Besides, the services are reaching the public using social media including e-mail, Facebook.
5.
 Installation of lighting nameplates
Enhancing the beauty of the public library and modern day lighting nameplates have been installed. Which is preferred by everyone including readers.
6.
 Installation of safe water filters
Safe water filters have been installed to ensure safe water facilities for all concerned including the public library readers.
7.
 Readers and Members
 The number of readers and members is increasing in recent times. Widespread circulation and the reputation and field of the library play a special role. Students are encouraged to increase membership. For the convenience of the readers, the library is open from Saturday to Wednesday from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
